Best Dressed Guest for {Wedding Season}

Wedding season is here, my friends! Many martial vows are said under floral arches this time of year and well into October here in Southern California.
So what do you wear?? Of course, you want to look your best and you want to make sure you are steering clear of creams and whites as to not offend the bride! Lots of planning and preparations go into weddings so I feel it's only respectful to make sure you are dressed appropriately for the occasion.
As with anything, you need to think about where the wedding will be held and how this affects the attire. Things like, no spiked heels in grass and shoes that will allow you to dance the night away. Really that's what we all love about weddings is the amazing party and hopefully the open bar, {wink, wink}!
So really anything outside of white and maybe the colors of the bridal party are a go for you as an attendee of this wonderful soiree. Let's breakdown the options based on the needs for the event.

When it comes to an evening event, that almost always suggests a dressier event, so think cocktail party. Here in California, many don't do Black tie anymore as our society has definitely shifted to a more relaxed nature. That's why I feel that a floor length maxi dress, in a season appropriate print, is just perfect for an evening wedding! And I have this beauty in the shop for only $48.50! A special occasion dress that is perfect for heels and dancing the night away or paired with sandals for a backyard BBQ. The Stylista Fitness Blog modeled and wrote all about how perfect this dress is for wedding season. Read her post here and shop this dress here

Most wedding venues will offer a discounted rate for daytime or afternoon weekday weddings. Just because the event isn't held in the evening doesn't mean that you should dress down for the occasion. After all, this is something that took a lot of time and effort to plan, so still keep the dressy nature of your attire but add some more elegant jewelry. The outfit shown on the left is a new floral chiffon blouse that hit the store last week and paired with a pearl necklace and knit striped skirt. The skirt is comfortable and can be used for casual daytime attire as well (I love versatile pieces no matter what I'm dressing for).
The outfit on the right is a simple shift dress but in a striking color and paired with a glitzy statement necklace to give a dressier feel. Again, this dress can be worn with casually afterwards. Shop the Dress here

There are many more options for wedding attire but I feel like this gives you a good place to start. Remember, weddings are not a place for jeans, casual sandals or t-shirts (trust me I have seen this happen before). There are exceptions but they are few and far between.

Because I would rather be the girl that was know for putting some effort in than none at all. Just sayin'. Let me know if you have any questions about this post. I'm always just an email away!

Wishing you a very Stylish week!
